At the core of my work is the belief that storytelling is a powerful and necessary tool for our collective healing and liberation. I approach my art through the lens of story stewardship and have committed my life to advancing narratives that reflect the lived experiences of communities impacted by systemic oppression. I am responsible for preserving the integrity of the stories people share with me, and honoring the voices of those whose histories are too often truncated.

My journey began as a photographer, capturing the essence of makers and community organizers around the world. By expanding my creative expression into documentary filmmaking, I seek to use visual storytelling as a vehicle to not only illuminate our past and present associations with land cultivation, but also to create space for imagining futures that are abundant, self-determined, and reflective of our inherent power.

I believe that decolonizing our narratives—reclaiming them from imbalanced power structures in media and educational references—is essential to restoring a sense of belonging within Black and Indigenous communities. My approach is rooted in the principles of stewardship, land-based liberation and the acknowledgment of our agrarian traditions, drawing on the knowledge and resilience of those who have long nurtured the earth.
